Step 1: Collect Data

Use the NASA Website to collect data.
Complete the Data Collection Sheet (you have a paper copy!)

Reminders for using the NASA Website:

Hover over "planets" at the top and click the name of a planet.
Use the information on the main page to complete the chart.

OR

Click on the "more" bar at the bottom and then "in-depth" to find data.

Step 2: Create and Format a Google Sheet

Set up a Google Sheet (access yours through Google Classroom).
Enter the data from your paper Data Collection chart.
Format your data:
1. - bold the headings, adjust the column widths, adjust the alignment (left, center, or right)

Step 3: Sort Data and Make a Chart

Sort your data.
Create 3 charts:
1. - Distance from the Sun (miles) Chart, Distance from the Sun (AUs) Chart, Diameter (miles) Chart

Step 4: Make a Scale

Create a scale for the diameter of each planet using a math formula!
