Hello! My name is Chelsea Kern and this is my first year here at Crossroads. Prior to coming to Crossroads, I worked in mental health and as a high school counselor. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Wright State University and my Master of Arts in School Counseling from Northern Kentucky University. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two (large) dogs. I help my students learn the skills necessary to cope with school, friendships, and life's challenges. My goal is for my students to build confidence in their ability to problem-solve, maintain healthy relationships, and navigate new or stressful situations.

I am passionate about advocating for your child’s needs in support of an equitable, individualized, positive educational experience. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Education and Integrative Studies and hold a Masters Degree in School Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. My counseling philosophy is student-centered and solution focused. I believe in a comprehensive counseling program that supports the academic, career and social-emotional development needs of all students. I strive for a school culture where each student experiences a sense of belonging. I have three wonderful children, one son and two daughters. I am a proud Army wife! I fill my spare time with my love of books and baseball.
