Visiting the Library Media Center

A teacher may write a pass for a student who would like to checkout, return, or renew library materials. These passes are only good for 5-10 minutes. Students do not need a pass to pick up items from the printer.

During SRT...

If a student wishes to checkout, return, or renew library materials, their SRT teacher can write them a pass. These passes are good for 5-10 minutes.

Loans, Loan Period, & Renewals

Junior high students may check out 3 books.  High School students may check out 4 books. The automatic loan period for books is 3 weeks. Students can renew once if they still need more time.

Renewing a book will give you an additional 3 weeks to finish. Books can be renewed once. You can renew books through Destiny. Check out the helpful guides/tutorials on the Destiny Catalog page.

Special Collection Materials

Because this library serves students in grades 7th through 12th, there are some materials that may be inappropriate for junior high students. These materials may contain mature content including profanity, violence, and/or sex. They have been marked with a Special Collections sticker. Parents may give their 7th or 8th grade child permission to check out these materials by filling out the Special Collections permission slip form or by emailing Miss Tropf.

Library Fines & Lost or Damaged Materials

To better serve our community, Fairfield Library Media Center does not charge fines for late items.

However, if a library item is lost or damaged, the person who checked out that item is responsible for replacing it either by paying the cost of the item or by purchasing a 'like new' item to replace it.

Please talk to Miss Tropf about lost and/or damaged items.

Inter-Library Loans

If Fairfield does not have a copy of the resource you want, Miss Tropf can try requesting it from another library. Send her an email (ktropf@fairfield.k12.in.us) with the resource's information e.g. author, title, volume, etc., or fill out a form in the library.

Printing to the Library

The library printer should only be used to print school related documents. Please include your first and last name on your document. If applicable, please also include your teacher's name and the period you have that teacher.
