MARIANO MASTROGIORGIO

I am an Associate Professor at IE Business School, where I teach in the undergraduate and PhD programs, and I serve as the Director of the Department of Strategy. 

I hold a PhD in Business Administration and Quantitative Methods from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. I was visiting professor at Luiss Guido Carli University and visiting PhD scholar at New York University Stern School of Business. I also hold a Master of Science in Business Administration and Quantitative Methods from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a Master of Science in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University, and a Bachelor in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University. Before joining IE Business School, I was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp. 

My research lies in the broad areas of innovation and strategy, at the intersection of evolutionary theory, resource redeployment and quantitative patent analysis. I am also interested in machine learning for natural language processing and generalized quantum approaches to decision making. I published my work on different outlets such as the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, Industrial and Corporate Change, and the Oxford University Press.
