Welcome to

Mrs. Shuler's

 Site

Name:  Maureen Shuler

Room #:  117

E-mail:  mshuler@faculty.brashiermiddlecollege.org

This year will be my 6th year at Brashier, but I've been a teacher since 1996. I have taught high school in both South Carolina and North Carolina, and I spent five years at the community college level in North Carolina. I have a BA in English from Winthrop University and my MAEd. in Reading Education from East Carolina University.  I love spending time with my family, listening to good music, and partaking in my three favorite things: books, Netflix, and coffee.

I'm looking forward to an exciting year!

Miscellaneous Classroom Information

Google Classroom will be the virtual platform for this school year.  Lesson plans, links, handouts, and most assessments will all be included in Google Classroom.  Students will receive an invitation to join Google Classroom via their school email address.  Upon request, parents may also access Google Classroom.

Students will be given Remind codes to join for class information: homework, assignments, links, etc.

No Red Ink and online textbook access codes will be provided to students the first week of school.

Academic Assistance will be held every Thursday after school until 4:00 p.m.

Re-Testing on Unit Tests require an email request two days prior to the scheduled re-testing date.  *Test dates will be posted in the classroom.

E-mail is my primary method of communication with parents.  My email address is mshuler@faculty.brashiermiddlecollege.org

 Shuler's Class Wishlist (2023-2024)

If you would like to donate to my classroom library, please use the link below to access my Amazon list:

 Shuler's Amazon Wish List

*Book titles were chosen based on YA book suggestions from Barnes and Noble Booksellers and Goodreads.com. I have not read all of the books on this list; however, I do try to read as many as possible so I can make sure the content is appropriate for high school students.

At least 1 service hour will be given for every $5 spent. Please make sure to include your student’s name on the Amazon slip, or email me the invoice and I will sign their service hour sheet.
