The class was created to address subjects that we, as a department, see that our students struggle with. Often, our students struggle with basic mathematical applications, general science concepts, critical thinking skills, and application as opposed to memorization of content. The goal of this class is to prepare our students for the future science classes they will take at Brashier and on.
The course will showcase the rigor expected of our students at BMC as well as introduce students to the basic concepts covered in biology, chemistry, and physics. As a result, students will be expected to learn the content at a level deeper than they may have encountered in middle school. Our students are asked to be able to apply the content learned in class to different scenarios and not just memorize facts. Learning how to study and how to learn will be a big part of the course.
