Welcome to Brashier and to my class page. I am so happy to be at Brashier and to be teaching English 2 - it is a privilege to be with you.
I began my career as an adjunct instructor at West Virginia State College and then became the senior English teacher at the local Catholic high school. After moving to South Carolina, I worked at an independent high school, where I taught English to students in grades 9-12, including both Honors and College Prep levels, as well as AP and IB courses. For several years now, I have taught in charter schools, including five years teaching 7th grade. I love working with students of all levels and believe that I have the most important job in the world. I am still excited to come to work.
I have a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Humanities, with a concentration in Literary and Critical Theory. I am certified to teach English grades 6-12.
When I am away from school, I still find great pleasure in reading, but I also spend a lot of time in the gym training for obstacle course and hybrid fitness races. I also love spending time with my husband, my two children, and my grandson.
This year, we will use Google Classroom to keep track of plans, assignments, and other useful information. Students are expected to check the classroom daily.
Each Sunday evening, I will post a Weekly Plan on each classroom, as well as on this site. This will be an overview of what we will be doing in class and will include due dates for assignments. This will be very helpful in planning and should keep students abreast of what is happening if they need to be absent.
A Day B Day
