Community service is not only a requirement for graduation, but also an opportunity to connect with academic projects that broaden the understanding of architecture from new perspectives.
The Community Service Program Supporting the Laboratory of Editions in Architecture, coordinated by the Faculty of Architecture at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), offers students the opportunity to participate in an academic project that critically examines the relationship between media and architecture, industrial design, cities, and landscapes.
Through research in libraries, newspaper archives, specialized archives, and digital collections, participants collaborate on the analysis of print and electronic publications, as well as on the design of publishing tools that facilitate the dissemination of architectural knowledge. The program also includes the development of proposals for public consultation spaces, with an emphasis on educational institutions.
This academic experience strengthens skills related to research, collaborative work, planning, decision-making, and professional communication. It also offers academic support and specialized guidance throughout the entire process.
The program takes place at the Faculty of Architecture's facilities on the University City campus and can be conducted in person, in a hybrid format, or remotely, depending on the specific project. It is aimed at architecture students interested in the links between architectural theory, communication and practice.
