Not Planning To Perform?
Fill Out This Change In Performing Status Form Before October 7
Here at Expressions Dance, our students look forward to showcasing their progress and confidence on stage at the Spring Recital in June. We assume that all students in performance classes will participate in performances with their class unless a parent/guardian tells us otherwise.
Performing Classes begin learning their routines in January so they are ready to perform in the community in May and perform on stage at the Spring Recital in June. The Spring Recital is made up of 7 unique shows. All classes are assigned to perform in ONE of the shows. Select classes are assigned to perform in more than one show.
If your student can't attend the stage performance, they can still participate in the community performance if you want. Just ask our Client Experience Team about that option.
Spring Recital shows at the Kroc are for the following levels:
Mini 2
Jr. 1, 2 & 3
Levels 1-7 (Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical)
All Teen Classes
All Hip Hop classes
Musical Theater classes
Elev8 Arts Dancers (Jr., Teen, Adult)
Please note that acro classes do not perform at Spring Recital
Students in Tippy Toes, Mini 1 and Elev8 Arts Kids classes will participate in special in-studio performances on Saturday, June 19.

The recital finale dance is a fun tradition at Expressions. At the end of each show, all the students gather for one final dance and bow.
Students have been practicing their finale parts in class. We will have two full-group rehearsals.
May TBD
June TBD
Attire: Regular dance class dress code and shoes for the style your student is part of for the finale.
COSTUMES & UNDERDRESS
Female dancers will wear skin-tone tights with their costumes.
If your female dancer has more than one costume per show that requires a complete costume change, they will need a skin-tone colored leotard with clear straps to wear under their costumes. This is a studio and venue policy. Children must remain covered at all times, even while changing costumes backstage.
Students with a 2-in-1 costume (combo class) do not need an undergarment leotard unless they have more than one class in the same show.
Purchase online through the dress code website
Two pairs of tights- why two? because accidents happen! It’s always a good idea to wear a pair and pack a pair just in case they’re needed! A small snag or spill can turn into a very big deal when emotions are running high.
For short or curly hair we found this bun video. Check out this bun tutorial with Miss Natalia. This tutorial shows a bun at the crown of the head. **For specific hair/make up instructions for your classes, please refer to the "Class Resources" found in your Parent Portal Account.
