Booking Guidelines
Arrive between 05:00 (5am) and 17:00 (5pm) the day your program begins
Students will have to transit through Lima. This involves collecting bags and clearing customs and immigration before rechecking to Cusco. Please allow a minimum of 3 hours to do this.
Depart between 05:00 (5am) and 22:00 (10pm) on the day your program ends

*** A GLA Airport Coordinator (see below) will be on standby at the Lima Airport in the arrival hall to assist with any travel-related issues such as baggage, flight delays, etc.

GLA recommends families avoid booking separate tickets with separate airline carriers and to avoid flights on Spirit or Frontier Airlines.
Unaccompanied Minor Program
Unaccompanied Minor Program: Typically, this program is required by airlines for travelers 14 years & younger when traveling alone (each airline is different).
Please contact us if you’ve purchased the optional Unaccompanied Minor service for your student and require a point of contact for arrival/departure.
Suggested Route
For each program, we suggest a flight route that is the most direct, with the fewest number of stops, and always leaving from a US gateway airport. Check the suggested routes on the Flight Portal.
Lima Airport Coordinator
How will the Airport Coordinator support my student in Lima?
We will have an Airport Coordinator this summer available during most arrival/departure times in Lima airport to assist with travel related issues such as flight delays, luggage issues, etc. They will not be supervising students directly but rather available and on standby to support with any travel hiccups.
Who are the Airport Coordinators and where will they be located?
Friendly, experienced travel professionals, vetted & trained by GLA.
Stationed at the hotel airport and can assist students in their transition between their international and domestic flights by request.

Flor Tirado - Lima Airport Coordinator
Flor Tirado has a degree in Translation and interpreting from Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón (Unifé) in Lima, Peru. She is fluent in Spanish, English, French and some Portuguese. She also works as trip leader for Medlife (a public health NGO headquartered in Lima) where she works with student groups from different ages (14-25). She loves working out at the gym, reading, dancing bachata and preparing her favorite Peruvian dish: cebiche.
