OUR PROGRAM
This internship program is designed for University of California Business students participating in a study abroad semester in Barcelona. Students will engage in unpaid internships with local startups and small businesses, earning 3 academic credits upon successful completion. This experience is intended to provide practical, hands-on training that complements their academic coursework in the area of their choice.

Show punctuality, respect, and follow company policies.
Commit to 15 hours/week and communicate any changes.
Define objectives with your supervisor and academic advisor.
Keep open communication with the company and program coordinator.
Never share sensitive company information outside the internship.
Support & Supervision
Support & Supervision
Expanish’s Internship program is designed to offer you guidance and structure throughout your internship experience.
A dedicated team will support you to help you navigate your role, develop personally and professionally, and make the most of your time in Barcelona. To achieve this, the program includes:
On-site Orientation session
Required Professional Development Seminars throughout the Internship (see below)
Online support during your Internship kick-off
Regular check-ins with both the Intern and the Supervisor
Access to the Internship Coordinator's support during designated office hours
Internship Seminars
The Internship Seminars provide a platform for reflection, enhancement of student skills, and the development of cultural competence.
This course uses a combination of lectures, guided discussions, interactive activities, and reflective assignments to integrate students' internship experiences with academic insights.
The seminars are organized in four sessions on specific Fridays from 11.15 to 13.00.

Interns are expected to adhere to the University of California Code of Conduct and the host organization's internal policies.
For further information, check the Student Handbook.
The Internship Program follows the same attendance policy as the Business in Barcelona program. If you're going to be absent or late, it's essential that you inform your Supervisor in advance.
