Community Service Employment Training (CSET) in partnership with the Bank of the Sierra are pleased to announce that applications are officially open for the 2026 Bank of the Sierra STEAM Scholarship. APPLICATION DEADLINE: OCT. 4th, 2026 @ 11:59 pm .

Both organizations are deeply committed to providing and supporting higher education opportunities for youth in Tulare County who face economic barriers. We ask for your assistance in sharing the information and encouraging eligible students to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Residents of Tulare County.
High school graduates enrolled in post-secondary education fall of 2026.
High school Seniors (Class of 2027)
Students pursuing areas of study in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

Please encourage students to apply even if their specific area of study does not seem to fit the criteria perfectly. For example, degrees in education or social work can be considered under the Arts category. We want to provide every possible opportunity to local youth and avoid discouraging applicants.

Award Information & Recognition

Award amounts typically range between $500 and $2,500, depending on the total number of successful candidates.
Selected recipients will be invited to the Regional Educational Youth Summit STEAM Conference in November to be formally recognized and honored for their achievements.

Application Requirements APPLICATION DEADLINE: OCT. 4th, 2026 @ 11:59 pm

To be considered, each applicant must submit the following:

Submit application form. (application form has the essay prompts)
Two completed essays answering the designated prompts. (application form has the essay prompts)
One (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, community member, or business professional.

You should never pay money to find scholarships. Beware of organizations asking you for money to apply for scholarships.

Check with parents and grandparent’s employers. Many companies have scholarships specifically for their employee’s dependents.

Prepare letters of recommendation. Start asking teachers, counselors, family friend professionals, employers, church leaders and other adults that know you for letters with plenty of notice.
