And of all those names, it is Stern’s that represents jazz’s closest accommodation with rock. Over the years – and his world travels – his music has incorporated many genres, from rock and jazz to Latin, African and Middle Eastern grooves, his playing transcends any one style and he’s just as likely to attract a rock crowd as a discerning jazz audience. The world is his backyard, which is why he calls his music his Big Neighborhood!
