The Upper School band program is designed for intermediate/advanced level band students. The focus of the classes is to further develop their technical and musical skills. In addition, more advanced students learn jazz musical theory and improvisation. Students are required to practice and strongly encouraged to obtain private lessons.

This class is designed for beginning band students regardless of grade. The class is comprised of mostly 6th graders with the possibility of 7th graders who wish to begin their band experience. The focus of the class is to develop basic music literacy and technical skills on musical instruments. Students who take this class are required to practice and work to build good habits on their instrument.

The focus of this class is to build on musical and technical skills with orchestral instruments. The class is comprised of mostly 7th and 8th grade students. Along with traditional woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments, we try to find a place for any instrument such as violin, electric keyboards, guitars, and more. Students are required to practice outside of the class and are encouraged to take private lessons.

The band will emphasis on theory and improvisation. Students are required to practice outside of class and are strongly encouraged to take private lessons. The prerequisite for this class is a successful completion of the Concert Band class.
