Congratulations to all the swimmers who swam this weekend at the Fall Fest meet! This was the biggest team that Excel has ever had at a meet and the early season speed was exciting as well. Congratulations to Cam Richardson for his smoking fast 100 Back time of 51.87 which is a new Futures cut. Congratulations also to Annabelle Zhang for her 2 new team records. She started the meet off with a 12:55.55 in the 1,000 and the next day swam a 1:06.67 in the 100 fly, both were good enough new 9-10 team records. A full meet report is below!

October Meet Adjustments
The 2022-23 Season is off to a record start in more ways that one. One of those is the number of swimmers that have decided to join us. While the growth presents us with huge opportunities, it does also force us to make some adjustments. In order to accommodate our additional numbers, we have added one more meet to the schedule.
The new line up looks like this:
Ensworth 10/8-9: All Bronze, All S, All Junior 2, Varsity 2 and Senior 2 Swimmers
McCallie/GPS 10/15-16: All Teal, All S and Junior 1 Swimmers
Chattahoochie Gold 10/14-16: Varsity 1 and S, Senior 1 and S and High Performance Swimmers
As always though, siblings of any of the above groups are welcome to attend the same meets.
Mentor Program
Mentor Program
The inaugural season of the Excel Mentor Program was last season and it was a great success. We would once again like to match our more experienced swimmers up with our youngest incoming swimmers to help welcome them to the Excel family. In order to make this program work we need our older, more experienced swimmers to volunteer to be paired up with one of our new young swimmers. If your swimmer is 9 or older, has been a member of Excel Aquatics for at least one year, and would like to connect with a young incoming swimmer then please consider getting involved.
"What does this entail? " you may ask. It's fairly simple really. You just provide support and encouragement in the form of notes and small gifts in their folders before meets. There is a cap exchange at Christmas time. The mentors found this very rewarding last year and the younger swimmers were so excited to come in and check their folders for stuff.
"How do I get involved?" you ask. Complete the Google form linked below. Also, if you are interested in helping to organize this program, please email me at coachdaun@excelaquatics.org. I have one parent committed to help, but she would like some help in managing the program.

All of our parent volunteers play a vital role in hosting meets. We simply could not host meets in your absence. While most jobs take little training or experience, meet officials go through an educational and training process that enables them to help officiate at all meets. In fact, our own Excel officials have outnumbered the host team officials in both our first two meets. We are very grateful to our officiating crew but are always looking for new members.
