Sustainability has become an increasingly important topic, with companies and consumers focused on the certified management of environmental impacts, local and ethical sourcing and traceability. Ireland is a leader when it comes to promoting the green agenda.
With this in mind, the Irish Examiner launched its first sustainability month in May 2019. Throughout the month across all our channels, we focused on Sustainability - from News and Business to Food, Fashion, Motors, Travel, Farming, Property, Interiors and more.
Our strategy was to provide our audience with practical and educational advice on how to adopt a more sustainable model of living by making small vital steps to Refuse, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, and show how applying these steps to everyday life you are supporting a more sustainable healthy lifestyle which also helps to protect and save the environment
The Irish Examiner’s ‘Examine Yourself’ was designed to deliver on the campaign’s strategic goals - to inform and to encourage engagement with the way self-examination can empower the reader to recognise any early signs of cancer and heighten public awareness of how early detection of cancer symptoms can boost a person's chances of survival.
The campaign in association with CUH Charity led off with print and online promotions featuring 'naked' posters of the Irish Examiner’s leading sports, comedy and cookery writers. Thematic design and branding were used across all subsequent content: Front page splashed; in-paper promotions; social, all print and online articles, including the Let’s Talk Cancer booklet and the online immersive read.
