2024 Call for Presentations

Proposals for the West Coast Child Welfare Trainers Conference are now being accepted! This is your chance to shine and share your knowledge and skills with your colleagues. Trainers, administrators, child welfare professionals, and university faculty, please submit your proposal in the theme of "Cultivate Compassion in Your Workforce"

We are looking for 90-minute workshop presentation proposals that include interactive training. The primary focus of the presentation should be on training-related issues & skills regarding the topic more than on course content. This conference is focused on building the skills of trainers, coaches, and their organizations. The foundation of this conference has always been a grassroots effort to support the professional growth of Child Welfare Trainers in the Western States at a very low cost to attendees; therefore, there is no financial compensation. Please include your CV/Resume with your proposal. New presenters can receive mentoring in preparing their workshops from experienced presenters when requested.

Share your training expertise in building inclusive curriculums and classrooms, training trauma-informed practices, collaborating with partners, gathering resources, conducting needs assessments, course design and development, employing unique strategies and methods, ways to deal with system interface issues, techniques to promote participant engagement and transfer of learning, etc. We are also open to considering proposals on additional topics. In your proposal, we ask that you integrate the themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Please review each "WEIRDD" section on the the 2023 Conference Page for a list of potential topics.
