Mindfulness simply means being aware of the present moment, from the feeling of our breath entering and exiting our bodies, to the experiences of the five physical senses, to noticing our emotions and the effect they have on us. Within the past few decades, there is an increasingly large body of research that indicates the beneficial impact that mindfulness can have on our health, our relationships, and all aspects of our lives.
