In an effort to provide additional documentation to teachers, the PLP team created this document to highlight the expectations for the process, which will support student-led conferences in the Fall and Spring.
To prepare for the Fall Conference, students should develop a Google Slideshow containing a(n):
Title Slide
About Me Slide
The About Me slide should include a student's name, grade level, and a brief autobiography that includes information about a student's interests.
SEL Goal
The SEL Goal should be developed by the student with the support of their teacher(s) based on the results of the fall DESSA Assessment.
During conferences - or in preparation for conferences - students should share these few slides with their families or support people. This can help to guide these conversations.
To prepare for Spring Conferences, students should add a slide that reflects on their progress toward their SEL goal.
In addition, students should add a slide to their slideshow for each subject area, including their Alpha/Unified Arts. For example, a student should develop a new slide for:
Literacy/Humanities
Math
Science
World Language
Art
Wellness/PE
Music/Band/Chorus/Orchestra
STEM/AMT
Note, the above list above contains merely suggestions. Each of these slides should feature one or more pieces of work that demonstrate their evidence of learning. Along with the featured work, the student should write a short explanation/reflection about why this work was chosen to be featured during their conference.
During conferences - or in preparation for conferences - students should share their work and reflections with their families, support people, and teacher(s).
