Hearing Protection
As your child may or may not have mentioned, it can get a bit LOUD in the band room with 80 kids armed with noise makers going at it. I also know that some students are more sensitive to louder noises in general. In any case, I wanted to share some examples of hearing protection that are on the market.
They've come a long way from those large, orange, peanut-looking plugs that have a tendency to fall out without any notice. These plugs are small, hardly noticeable, and do a fantastic job of cutting the decibel level while still allowing you to hear people talking to you. I've linked the two brands that I use on a regular basis when I'm out playing in clubs and different venues:
