The more students read, the more they learn, the better they write, and the richer their understanding of the world becomes. This summer, our goal is to help students discover the sheer joy of a great book.
Did You Know?
Studies show that regular independent reading over the summer is the single most effective way to prevent the "summer slide" (the 1-2 months of literacy skills students typically lose over the break).
We believe books should be powerful "mirrors and windows"—allowing kids to see their own reflections and view new worlds. To make this happen, summer reading shouldn't feel like a chore. We encourage you to explore new genres, read together as a family, and focus entirely on fun.
Happy Reading!
