characters

Frisk (you)

in undertale you play as the final fallen soul the MONSTERS need.you are a HUMAN child cannonly named frisk.since frisk is human,so they have a soul like mentioned earler.we dont hear them ever actually having true diolage in the game. you can choose options for them in the game, but this isnt real dioluge.they act like a husk for their soul (aka you) to control.considering frisk is the last soul needed to break the barrier, there are other souls too.

Souls

in undertale you have a soul.each soul has its own trait. you play as the red soul, which is determination.considering the souls the MONSTERS have obtained so far,they also have traits of their own.They are:

MONSTERS

(Quick note that MONSTERS have souls, but they are diffrent from HUMAN souls.they are much weaker and cannot break the barrior.there are also BOSS MONSTERS.their souls are stronger but are still no comparison to a HUMANS soul.Another note is if a BOSS MONSTERS offspring dies, they can no longer age.)

Flowey

Flowey,also known as asriel, was orignaly a normal flower. but it contained asriels ashes from when he died.The royal scientist, Alphys, injected this flower as an experament. with asriels ashes and a touch of determination.flowey was "reborn". without a MONSTER soul, he does not have real feelings. he is also the tecnical main villain of undertale. he starts out "friendly" but tries to trick you into giving him your soul.then on out, like every other MONSTER, he seeks out for your soul. not only your soul, the other HUMAN souls too. for almost complete selfish reasions. to break the barrier,and to become his true self, asriel, but a much more powerful version of himself.

Toriel

(Fun fact:toriels name is short for the term tutorial. considering she gives a tutoriel of the games functions)

Toriel is a loving goat mother throughout the game. she is the first of the main MONSTERS you actually encounter with a story besides Flowey.She acts like a tutorial for the game.unlike other MONSTERS, she wants to keep you safe in the RUINS from hostile MONSTERS. she will give you a phone to contact her after your first encounter with her. she will contact you to make sure your safe. when you get to her house in the RUINS, she will give you a warm welcome and a room to stay in (and if you sleep in the bed Toriel will give you her signature butter scotch pie beside your bed!). after you sleep she will be sitting and reading about snail facts. if you continuously ask her to leave the ruins she will run downstairs to the RUIN DOOR. she dosn't want you to leave because it isn't safe. so she tests your strength in a battle against her. if you manage to win without killing her, she will live and let you go.(another fact about her is that she is the former queen and was married to king ASGORE. they had Asriel but he sadly died.)

Sans

(fun fact: Sans actually dosnt have pink slippers, they are white. but toby fox liked the idea so much he put it on a whole lot of Sans merch)

You all might know this funny skeleton for his SANS-ational take over on the internet. He is the first main MONSTER you meet exiting the RUINS. He is one for his puns and rocks the iconic blue sweater. Hes also usualy smiling and is also very lazy. thats why he never actually captures you. (and the fact hes really not one for actually doing his job) But his brother Papyrus, is a "human hunting fanatic" as sans says. People have came up on a theory that he can teleport considering he moves to each location really fast.
