OVERVIEW

The movie, “The Hunger Games” is about an yearly event that is played to see who will be the last one standing in a survival and combat game. There are 12 different districts spread out in a futuristic post pandemic version of North America. Each year two children, one boy and one girls' name is picked from a jar, almost like a lottery. When the two are chosen they are automatically entered into the Hunger Games. When everyone in the 12th District (the lowest and poorest district) gathered together in their best outfits to see who would be picked as the two tributes for this years game. The main character of this trilogy series is named Katniss Everdeen, she lives with her younger sister and mom, Primrose and Asterid Everdeen. During the selecting of tributes Primrose gets picked causing Katniss to act out and volunteer herself so her younger sister doesn't die during the games. A boy named Peeta Mellark is then chosen to be the male representative for District 12. The two then go off to the capital to prepare to play in the arena. The arena is a big dome that all of the tributes play in. Everyone then goes onto these platforms that bring them to the start where the main source of weapons, food, etc of things are located. Once the countdown goes off and a cannon is shot that is their cue to go. Either some fight to be able to collect resources, others flew, and some die. Whenever someone dies there is a cannon that gets shot off to signify to others that someone passed away. Throughout the games the people might make alliances with the other tribute from their district or someone else. At any time different sponsors can send gifts to their tributes to help them win. In the end Katniss and Peeta win the 74th annual Hunger Games together and continue to play on for another year
