There will be a math team practice this coming Tuesday 2/3/26 from 1:45 to 2:30 in room 102. Please make every effort to attend this and one more practice before the last meet of the season in early March. We will be reviewing our game plan for meet 4 and will check out our state standings so far. Please see Mrs. Borges with any questions.

This past Wednesday was the RIIL Track and Field Division Championships! EWG's Girls teamed placed THIRD overall with a score of 92 points, just 4 points behind second place! Leading the way for points was Nini Olawuyi who took home first place in the 55 meter hurdles, high jump, and long jump earning First-Team All Division status in each event! Lily Chabot took first place in the 1500 meter run and second in the 1000 meter run earning First and Second Team All Division. Kate Hebert took first in the 300 meter dash earning First Team All Division, and also anchored the girls 4x200 meter relay with Lilly Roch, Scarlett Salter, and Ella Wolstencroft who all earned Second Team All Division! Mackenzie Fernstrom placed third in shot put and earned Third Team All Division! On the boys side, EWG tied for 7th overall in the Division! Congratulations to Drew Stone who placed third in the boys long jump, earning Third Team All Division! Outside of our All Division athletes we also had several other individuals and relays who all medaled and contributed to our team scores! Great work EWG!!
Congratulations to the EWG Math Team!!! Meet 3 was held on the Tuesday before the start of exams and 24 students attended to challenge themselves to the usual 3 rounds of competition. At this meet EWG earned a score of 40 total points...the highest team score in more than a decade AND three individuals scored perfect rounds having correctly answered all three questions in the round. You are invited to an exciting event right here in our auditorium. Come see our Talent Show! We are showcasing our student’s talents on Wednesday night, January 28th at 7 PM. All are invited! We will have singers, guitarists, instrumentalists, piano players, drummers and our teacher rock band Mid-Life Crisis which includes Mr. Gardiner, Mr. Nuzum, Mr. Anthony, Mr. Runner and our friend Ricky Therrien on electric guitar and lead voice! Other talent acts may include dance, magic and Martial Arts!
This event is a fundraiser for POPS and we are collecting a suggested donation of $5 at the door but that is just a suggestion. Anyone can come and enjoy our talent here at EWG. Thank you for supporting the performing arts at EWG by coming to our show!

Our Lady Knights have been on fire, going undefeated at 4–0 over the last eight days! Kate Hebert led the charge with an impressive 56 points, while Nini Olawuyi added 40 more. Brielle Frenette and Lila Salter have been unstoppable on both ends of the court, racking up steals, points, and assists. Cora Cranston has anchored the defense with relentless pressure and dominant rebounding. Freshmen Grace Lewis and Emma Silva continue to rise to the challenge, taking on upper-class opponents with confidence and skill. Emily Taylor and Izzy Tramonti bring nonstop energy, winning every 50/50 ball and chipping in timely buckets when the team needs it most. Strong contributions from Makenzie Fernstrom, Julia Martin, and Ashley Lussier rounded out an outstanding team effort. Keep it up, Lady Knights!

Congratulations to our Lady Knights on a big win last night as they defeated Pilgrim 36–26 to remain undefeated this season! 🏀
A huge thank you to all of our fans who packed the gym and brought the energy—we truly appreciate your support.
Leading the way was Kate Hebert, our high scorer with 17 points and 5 steals. Freshman Grace Lewis had a strong performance, chipping in 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal. On the defensive end, Nini Olawuyi shut down Pilgrim’s top scorer and added an impressive 5 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 steals.
Great job, Lady Knights—keep it going!

EWG Lady Knights Basketball Announcement
The EWG Lady Knights earned a big 50–33 victory over Division II East Greenwich on Friday night!
Leading the way was Kate Hebert with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Brielle Frenette added 9 points, 4 assists, and 5 steals, while Cora Cranston chipped in 5 points, 5 rebounds, and a steal.Player of the Game honors went to freshman Grace Lewis, who had an outstanding performance with 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals.
The Lady Knights are back in action tonight on the road against Toll Gate. Then, help us pack the gym on Wednesday when EWG takes on Pilgrim — JV at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 7:00 PM!

Congratulations to EWG‘s culinary department, who brought home the top prize last night at the Ocean House contest! Our school earned the top overall prize, competing against other local high schools!
A special shout-out to Jaeden Grzybowski and Madison Sherman for winning first prize for EWG and second place to Kiara Schofield, Ashlyn Baird, and Jazlyn Biddy. Their houses are on display in the art loft now until the break. Please feel free to stop by and view them! Their hard work and attention to detail paid off. Plants are already in place for next year’s event, so start planning now if you want to be involved in the excitement! Congratulations to all the nighttime students who put in extra, extraordinary efforts!

Student Council is hosting our Snowball Showdown Trivia Tournament on Friday, December 19th, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM in the Senior High Auditorium. Teams of four can compete in a bracket-style trivia contest for the chance to become this year’s champions! Admission is free for participants, and just $2 for spectators. DECA will be running their snack bar, and Student Council will be selling fresh popcorn and hot chocolate. If you want to join the competition, check out the flyers in the hallways and scan the QR code to sign up. Spots are limited, so don’t wait!

The EWG FFA chapter is holding a teddy bear drive now through December 17th! New teddy bears and cash or check donations are accepted, and there are donation boxes in the junior and senior high, Metcalf, and both the Exeter and Loutitt Library. All donations will be sent to first responders who work with children. Your support is greatly appreciated.

As we did last year, Student Council will begin collecting clothing donations now through January. Students will be checking into advisory classrooms weekly and collecting as needed. The advisory to collect the most items will have lunch catered as a thank you! Last year, we donated 30 trash bags full of clothing.
This year, we are going to stock Holly's closet with items needed (gloves, scarves, hats, jackets, socks, underwear, etc.). We will then donate the rest of the collection to our community.

Congratulations to our girls soccer team! They will be playing in the state championship game this Saturday, November 8th at Rhode Island College at 11:00am against St. Rays.
We are planning to send the team off at 2:15 with an escort from our local fire departments if anyone would like to be here to wish them well.
"EWG would like to take a moment to recognize Mrs Yanovich (srv high BMT teacher) in her completion of the 2025 New York City Marathon! Despite facing a minor injury, she still managed to complete the 26.2 mile course in 3 hours and 13 minutes! She has now completed 5 out of the 6 total World Major Marathons, with only Tokyo to go. Her finish also qualified her to compete in the 2026 Boston Marathon! Way to go Mrs Yanovich! EWG will be cheering for you, go get your 6th star!"

"EWG's annual blood drive is here! On November 4 from 1-7 we will be hosting a blood drive in the auditorium. This is a wonderful opportunity as you are guaranteed community service hours by trying to donate. Your one donation can save up to 3 lives so If you are interested please sign up during lunch! Class of 2028 Trunk or Treat Halloween Event
If you would like to park/ decorate your car & pass out candy for this year's Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 24, 2025, please complete this form anytime before Friday, October 10. There is NO charge to park/ decorate your vehicle. Further directions/ guidelines will be sent via email. Our goal is to get between 45-50 Cars.
This activity does count as community service hours for students in grades 9-12!
