OBX season ones main plot is discovering the royal merchant. The royal merchant is a sunk ship Kiara, JJ, John B, and Pope found while hanging out on the boat. They discover the mysteries behind the ship and try to find the treasures. In this season you also get a feel for what the characters are like.

OBX season twos main plot is discovering the Cross of Santo Domingo. The Cross of Santo Domingo was discovered and apparently part of Popes family. When Pope found this out he knew he had to have it. So in this season it shows the struggles they go through to get this cross and keep it as well.

OBX season 3 main plot is discovering El Dorado which is the city of gold. At the start of the season Sarah and John B are stuck in the Bahamas and Cleo is introduced. In this season John B also finds his dad when searching for El Dorado. They begin to team up and find El Dorado. The pogues want this gold because it is worth lots of money. John B starts to get mixed feelings about his dads actions during the adventure of find El Dorado.

OBX season 4 main plot is discovering and finding Blackbeard's treasure for example the blue crown. The blue crown is known to grant you a wish. In this season JJ also finds out his dad Luke is actually his adoptive dad and his real dad is Chandler Groff. At the end of season 4 the pogues including Rafe go to Morocco to find the blue crown and something shocking happens to one of the pogues.
