The Hemospectrum is apart of Alternian Culture with it consisting of 13 castes; Rust, Bronze, Gold, Lime, Olive, Jade, Teal, Cerulean, Indigo, Purple, Violet, and Fuchsia. The 13th caste is when a troll is one of the 12 bloods but their blood ends up mutating. This system is similar to the caste system in India with the lower caste members being discriminated and treated poorly while higher caste members are respected and feared. 

April 13th, 2009, A man named Andrew Hussie started to upload a comic named Homestuck to a website called MS Paint Adventures. Homestuck follows four friends as a game they all order and play together ends up guiding a meteor straight to Earth. The comic ended November 16, 2016 but has an ongoing after story; the epilogues and beyond canon.

• Each troll has a unique sign thats linked to their blood caste.

• Trolls have 'parents' that are called Lusii (Lusus for non-plural). They are white animals with usually a few deformations; an example of this would be a cat with two sets of eyes.

• Alternian Society has it's own dictionary when it comes to certain words; an example of this would be dogs being called 'barkbeasts' and cats being called 'meowbeasts.'

Quadrants are the name of the various romantic relationships in Alternian Culture. The four quadrants are called Matesprit, Moirail, Kismesis, and Auspicious. Matesprit and Moirail can be compared to regular, human relationships, similar to regular, romantic partners. Kismesis is similar to a toxic romantic relationship; the pairing contains two people that hate but also love each other. Despite its strange nature, Auspicious is a third party member that keeps the two from killing each other.
