Maglev Trains are a new era of transportation. The trains work by using magnets to levitate above the track causing no friction. Two north magnets, one on the track and one on the train repel from each other levitating the train. The magnets are supercooled coils that help accelerate and slow down the train. The coils make the train move forward and the train can reach speeds up to 375 Mph which is way faster than regular trains with wheels. Right now the only active Maglev Trains are in Asia but they are expected to expand to America soon. Did you know some of the Maglev Trains have 16 cars making it able to carry 1,000 passengers making transportation way faster for commuters.
Maglev Trains are a large step in the future of transportation. They can help reduce carbon emissions greatly, make travel safer for travelers. First of all Maglev Trains reduce carbon emissions way more that you average diesel train. The trains are all electric meaning that there is no carbon emissions what so ever. Did you know that Maglev Trains reduce carbon dioxide emission by about 336 million kilograms per year. Maglev Trains are also safer than your regular train because of a couple factors. Firstly, the trains are equipped with powerful braking systems making the trains stop faster than trains with wheels. They also are much less likely to derail which is one of the leading causes of train deaths.
This Youtube video by Real Engineering gives an extremely elaborate and detailed explanation to how the Maglev train works.
