How it Works
Vortex Bladeless is a wind turbine, that doesn't of use blades to collect power, it generates energy by using the properties of air physics itself. Specifically it uses the natural phenomenon called Vortex Shedding to create energy. Vortex Shedding in simple terms is when fluid (in this case air) flows over an object, creating a pendulum-likeĀ flow. This phenomenon combined with permanent magnets, spinning copper coils are used in this way to create energy. This energy is then transported by a cable to a battery stored underground, at the base. This energy is then transported for use through more underground cables.
Improvement and Solution
Modern day wind turbines are loud and disrupt the ecosystem and the community around it. The Vortex however has the advantage of no blades turning and spinning around, this not only will keep the machine from failing, like if a blade breaks on a traditional one but help the bird population recover from the effects of harmful, industrial wind turbines. It is claimed to be a silent machine with little to no noise from the generator itself which would help with things like zoning, and would just be an improvement for the turbines altogether. The Vortex also comes in many different sizes from one for a modern day consumer to some being big enough for large scale companies
