Dave Evans was the original lead singer of AC/DC. He, however, only stayed with the band for one year, leaving due to the lack of financial gain despite the band's growing traction. He then went on to join the band Rabbit in the 1980's and then went solo. Although he was pretty good at singing, he was replaced by Bon Scott, who had noticeably better skills and much more energy and feeling. Dave Evans is still alive at the age of 71.
Larry Van Kriedt was the original bassist for AC/DC. Like Dave Evans, he joined the band in 1973 and left in 1974. After leaving AC/DC, he continued his musical career. He practiced his jazz music, and, similarly to Dave Evans, joined other bands and went solo. Larry Van Kriedt was replaced with the band's new bassist, Mark Evans. He is still alive today at 70 years old.
Colin Burgess, was the original drummer for AC/DC. Before joining this band, he was part of another Australian rock band called The Masters Apprentices. Like many other members, Colin Burgess only stayed with the group from 1973 to 1974. When he was found drunk on stage during a performance, he was kicked out of the band. He claimed that someone had spiked his drink. He went on to play with many more bands before passing away in 2023.
Angus Young was and still is AC/DC's co-creator and lead guitarist. He is the only member who was one of the original 5 who stuck with the group for its entirety, continuing today. When Angus Young had first heard that his brother was starting a band, he immediately signed up, auditioned, and got in. After that, the band simply grew.
Malcolm Young, Angus Young's brother and creator of AC/DC, was the band's rhythm guitarist. He did not stay with the band, but only because he needed treatment for his dementia. He passed away at 64 in 2017 after a long and hard battle with his condition.
