The student is responsible for carrying the Chromebook to and from school each day. Students should charge the Chromebook fully each night, as charging cords may not be available in the classroom. Students should assume that they will use the Chromebook every day at school and should plan accordingly.
Use and store the Chromebook on a desk or table, not the floor.
Protect the Chromebook from:
Spills of food or drinks
Rain, direct sunlight, freezing temperatures
Small children and pets
Use by anyone other than the student. Parents are permitted to assist students with use of the Chromebook but are not permitted to use the Chromebook for personal reasons.
Always allow a computer scan or update to complete its process.
Do not install, uninstall or modify any application, game or operating system component.
Do not download game emulators, chat clients, peer-to-peer software or any other unauthorized software.
Do not place stickers or otherwise mark or modify the Chromebook.
Do not insert foreign objects (paperclips, pens) into the Chromebook.
In the classroom, the Chromebook lid should be closed between uses.
Do not remove the EWCSD identification barcode.
Keep the Chromebook away from precarious locations like table edges, floors, seats or around pets.
Use only the power supply that was issued with the Chromebook.
Do not wipe the screen of the Chromebook with anything abrasive that may leave behind scratches or marks. Clean the screen with a soft, dry antistatic, or microfiber cloth. Do not use window cleaner or any type of liquid on the Chromebook. You can also use packaged pre-moistened eyeglass lens cleaning tissues to clean the screen.
Handle the Chromebook with care at all times.
Students should secure the Chromebook when it is out of their sight.
Keep the Chromebook in the protective case that was issued.
Do not leave the Chromebook in a car as it can be stolen or damaged due to weather conditions.
If the student participates in an after-school program for athletics or a club, talk with the coach or advisor about a safe place to store the Chromebook.
Never leave the Chromebook unattended.
It is the student's responsibility to bring the Chromebook to school charged and ready to go each day. The Chromebook should be charged overnight to ensure a full charge for the following school day.
EWCSD provides wireless Internet access at all campuses across the district. Chromebooks are configured to automatically connect to the wireless network when in range.

Don't share or post personal or private information about yourself or others online. Think before you post, the Internet is forever!
Communicate in ways that are kind and respectful, both online and in person.
Tell your teacher or appropriate staff member if you find threatening, disturbing or inappropriate content while using your Chromebook.
You should not be accessing and/or playing games on the Internet unless specifically allowed by a teacher or appropriate staff member.
