Students will be directed to wash hands immediately preceding and following eating at school.
Students eating breakfast will enter the cafeteria upon arrival wearing masks, grab their breakfast, stop at their lockers and then go directly to their homeroom. During lunch periods, each grade level will be divided into smaller groups. Each group will be assigned one of four locations each day: the cafeteria, the media center, the gym or outside, and Creation Station (a room where students can cook, sew, build, program, and explore). Students will be called down to the cafeteria one group at a time to go through the lunch line. Once students get their lunch, they will return to their assigned location to eat. Students will rotate through each area weekly. Masks will be required for movement through the cafeteria lunch line and hallway transitions.
In an effort to expedite the time students spend in line with other students, there have been some updates to our food and nutrition processes for the 2020-2021 school year, including:
Limited menu offerings.
Offer vs. Serve will be eliminated, which means students will have to take all items on the menu, including milk.
Disposable trays/containers will be used for any student not eating in the cafeteria and prepackaged, disposable utensils will be provided.
