In order to reduce the likelihood of someone bringing Covid-19 into the building, only essential visitors will be allowed to enter Highland.
If a parent needs to drop something off for their child, they will use the buzzer system at the main entrance and announce the name of the student and what they are bringing for the child. Visitors should make sure items are labeled - a member of the office staff will either meet you at the door or direct you to leave it at the table by the entrance.
If a parent is dropping off medication, they will use the buzzer system to let the secretary know. Either the school nurse or another office member will meet you at the door.
Parents/Guardians needing to meet with an administrator, teacher or guidance counselor must schedule the meeting in advance. Use of phone or video conferencing will be encouraged. For the safety of our staff and students, all parents must wear a mask when entering the building.
Due to the need for limiting visitors into our building, at this time parents will not be able to walk students to their classrooms. We will be ready to support you with this separation. Once details are shared at the beginning of August, we would encourage you to drive the route and practice drop off so that your child will be more comfortable with this transition on their first day of school.
We will not be able to welcome visitors at lunch due to the need to minimize student contact with others outside of their cohort/class.
