Please note:
Registrations received on or after June 15 will be subject to a $100 late registration fee and are not guaranteed placement on a team. Late registrations will be accepted until September 1. If divisions reach roster capacity, late registrants may be placed on a waitlist.
Any player hoping to try out for a Raiders, Bucks or Avalanche team must register with the Elk Valley Minor Hockey Association in order to be eligible for tryouts.
Based on our projections for next season, our best estimate of teams to be offered are:
U5 ($195) 1 Sparwood and 1 Elkford team (no travel required)
U7 ($350) 2-3 evenly skilled teams.
U9 ($475) 1-3 teams. Next season, Elk Valley (EV) will evaluate players and place them on teams based on skill, aligning with the approach taken by other associations in the East Kootenay Minor Hockey region.
U11 ($525) 1 development Elk Valley team and 1 recreational EV team. There will be no U11 Raiders team next season.
U13 ($575) at least 1 "rep" Raiders team (combined with Fernie) and 1 EV recreational team
U15 ($625) 1 “rep” Raiders full contact team (combined with Fernie) and 1 EV recreational non-contact team.
U18 ($625) Based on current projections, we anticipate having enough players between Elk Valley and Fernie to form two teams.The structure and format of those teams will depend on registration numbers and player interest. More information will be available once registration has closed.
Female Hockey: Female numbers are highest at the U11 and U13 levels and we are aiming for female teams in these age groups, pending registration and approval. Reach out to Stephanie Doratty at female@evmha.ca if you have questions.
Practice schedules will not be finalized until September. Practices will alternate between Sparwood and Elkford for most teams. Teams combined with Fernie will alternate between all three communities.

Registration for U13 and U15 Raiders tryouts are now open until August 15.

Registrations that occur on or after August 2 will incur a $50.00 late registration fee.
Tryouts will happen in September, dates TBA later this summer.
Full refunds are available until August 15, or for players who are successful at making the U13 or U15 EK Avalanche or U15 Cranbrook Bucks. Refund requests must be sent in writing to fernieminorhockey@gmail.com.
