Instructional Materials

Designing engaging, compelling student learning experiences requires resources aligned to district, state, and national frameworks and standards.

As we continue our work to address the needs of Evergreen students, we want to ensure that educators have effective and vetted tools available for use across the grade levels and content areas. A range of curricular resources are provided to teachers to build meaningful learning that engages students in exploration, inquiry, and creativity, while maintaining clear alignment across the system to support equity of experience for students.

Can parents preview the HGD materials?

Washington state law requires that parents and guardians be notified at least one month before the HGD curriculum will be taught to their student and that parents and guardians are given the opportunity to review the materials that will be used.

Evergreen School District has multiple evening parent preview sessions over the year. Please check with your school for details. Some materials may only be viewed at the school site due to copyright laws.

Parents and guardians always have the right to have their child excused from participating in the HGD lessons or HIV/AIDS education. However, parents are encouraged to review the materials prior to requesting an “opt out” form for their child.
