As one of the largest school districts in the state of Washington, Evergreen Public Schools encourages a collaborative instructional model and use of Professional Learning Communities to learn best teaching practices and design quality lessons and assessments. Initiatives include personalized learning using the workshop instructional model and emphasis on engagement and graduation attainment for all students.

Our school district has a five year plan tied to workshops that are planned and implemented through the efforts of our staff development department, administrative teams, and building leadership teams. In-services and workshops are provided prior to the beginning of student attendance and continue throughout the school year. New teachers are further assisted through a two-day orientation and by instructional coaches and experienced teachers throughout the year with emphasis given to practical and researched-based instructional and assessment strategies.
