Graduation Pathway Options
Graduation pathway options allow students to a pursue a personalized, meaningful education that results in a diploma and skills needed for college or career.
All students can use the new graduation pathways, and they are equal in value.
Pathways should be connected to students’ post-high school goals (High School and Beyond Plan) and are designed to ensure a meaningful future after high school.
Students must meet the requirements of at least one of the following eight pathways. View the Pathways to Graduation document below for more details.
State Assessment: Meet the graduation scores in the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math.
Advanced Placement Exams: Earn a 3 or higher on certain Advanced Placement (AP) exams for both English Language Arts and Math.
College Admission Exam scores (SAT/ACT): Earn at least the graduation score on the SAT, SAT with Essay, ACT, or the ACT with Writing for English Language Arts and/or Math.
Dual Credit Courses: Complete and qualify for college credit in dual-credit courses in English Language Arts and/or Math.
Transition Courses: Pass a Bridge-to-College course in English Language Arts and/or Math.
Combination: Meet the graduation pathway requirement with any combination of at least one English Language Arts and at least one Math pathway from options 1-5.
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB): Earn a qualifying score on the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) portion of the ASVAB.
Career Technical Education Course Sequence: Complete a specified sequence of CTE courses connected to the student's High School and Beyond Plan.
Performance Based: Students show what they know and can do in real-world, hands-on ways that align with their individual goals for life after high school. This pathway is intended to be customizable, with the aim of being relevant and engaging to the student to meet math, ELA or both.
