The Good News highlights uplifting and inspiring stories of the students and staff in Evergreen Public Schools
The Connect Evergreen coalition hosted its third annual Youth Leadership Conference on October 2, bringing together 122 students from across 7 middle and high schools for a day of connection, learning, and leadership development. Guided by the theme, “Connect. Create. Celebrate. Change.”, students engaged in leadership, wellness, advocacy, campaigning, and decision-making through interactive workshops and group activities.
This year, the conference expanded to include middle school students, creating more opportunities for young people to connect across schools and grade levels. Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 100% of students who rated the overall event saying they liked or loved it. As a district-based coalition focused on preventing youth substance use through education, collaboration, and community connection, Connect Evergreen recognizes the importance of belonging and positive relationships in prevention. The conference empowered students to build connections, celebrate their voices, and explore ways to create positive change in their schools and communities.
