As summer approaches, the School District would like to thank our community members for their continued support and respectful use of our school campuses, fields, playgrounds, and outdoor spaces. We recognize that school properties often serve as valuable community gathering places when school, district-sponsored activities, and building rental contracts are not in session.
We encourage community members to enjoy our facilities responsibly and in accordance with city and county public disturbance/noise ordinances. At the same time, we ask everyone to help us preserve these spaces by following district expectations and applicable local laws.
Recently, we have observed an increase in activities that have caused damage to district property, created safety concerns, and negatively impacted neighboring residents. These concerns include:
Riding e-bikes, electric motorcycles, and other motorized vehicles on school grounds, athletic fields, tracks, and landscaped areas.
Lighting or discharging fireworks on district property.
Hosting large gatherings that create excessive noise, leave behind litter, damage facilities, or otherwise disrupt surrounding neighborhoods, or are preventing other neighbors or visitors from enjoying the property.
Urination or otherwise engaging in inappropriate sanitary activities on district property.
Unauthorized use of barbecues (gas, electric, or charcoal), fire pits, propane heaters, or other devices that generate heat, flames, or combustible emissions.
Any activity that results in misuse, vandalism, or abuse of district facilities.
All pets must be on a leash.
For the safety of our students, families, and community members, motorized vehicles are not permitted on fields, playgrounds, tracks, or other areas not specifically designated for vehicle use. Fireworks are prohibited on all district property. Additionally, gatherings that violate local noise ordinances or create unsafe conditions may be subject to intervention by district staff or local law enforcement.
Our schools and facilities are community assets that require ongoing care and maintenance. Damage resulting from improper use diverts valuable resources away from educational programs and facility improvements that benefit our students and community.
We appreciate the cooperation of all community members in helping us maintain safe, welcoming, and well-maintained campuses. By treating school property with respect, we can continue to provide spaces that everyone can enjoy throughout the year.
Thank you for your partnership in protecting and preserving our school campuses.
