PRACTICE WITH THE BACKING TRACKS BEFORE YOU RECORD.
*The middle of Brazil is a little weird...I (Ms. McDonald) had to customize the first ending myself. But it works!
When you record, wear headphones for the backing track, and RECORD WITH A SEPARATE DEVICE.
Due date: Videos for this concert will be due by February 12, 2021.
This is what we've been working toward! Here are the instructions for recording your video for the 2020 VIRTUAL HOLIDAY JR. TIDE BAND CONCERT!!!
Practice your band holiday piece, bit by bit
6th grade = Holly Jolly Christmas
7th/8th grade = Minor Holiday Celebration
Practice your band holiday piece WITH THIS BACKING TRACK (click on your grade to access the backing track):
Record!
You MUST use headphones to listen and play along with the backing track.
Press "record" on your second device BEFORE you press play on the backing track.
example: Play backing track on chromebook WITH HEADPHONES, record video using your phone. Press record first on your phone, THEN press play to begin the backing track.
Make sure you're not playing directly close to your recording device's microphone--sit at least 6 feet away from it.
Please wear something red or holiday-related (like a santa hat or tinsel!). Dress up like you would for a live in-person concert.
Send it to Ms. McDonald before you celebrate Thanksgiving. She will be very grateful to you. ;-)
We want you to send in a recording of "Ode to Joy." It's a great song to know, and it's easy to put together. Mr. Holmes has put the music to all the parts on Google Drive. THIS WILL BE DUE ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 19.
Instructions READ CAREFULLY:
Practice Ode to Joy with a metronome. Make sure the clicks line up with the quarter notes.
Click the JOY EMOJI for your sheet music to Ode to Joy.
Click HERE for ProMetronome app for Apple.
Click HERE ProMetronome app for Android.
Click HERE if you are on a chromebook or computer.
Use a metronome when you record your video. USE HEADPHONES. I do NOT want to hear the metronome.
Choose a tempo: 80, 100, 120, or 140.
If you choose one that's too fast, choose one of the slower tempos.
Let the metronome click for 16 counts total, then start playing. 80, 100, 120, or 140.
THE TEMPO YOU CHOOSE IS CRUCIAL. IF YOU CHOOSE A TEMPO THAT IS NOT 80, 100, 120, OR 140, YOU WILL NOT BE IN THE VIDEO.
CLAP on beat 9.
Be really loud and clear.
Save the file to your Google Drive, and save it as "YourNameOdeToJoy" (ex: MsMcDonaldOdeToJoy)
Upload the video to your Google Drive and fill out the form below.
