Rent a violin from Johnson String. We highly recommend renting your instrument.
Renting is good because Johnson String provides size upgrades, insurance and supplies for the duration of your rental.
The Everett String Program does not handle Johnson String Rentals. The violin contract is made solely between parents and Johnson String Instruments.
Buy a violin. You can buy a good student violin for about $150-$300 and it will be yours but supplies and insurance are NOT included. Here are websites where you can buy a good quality violin:
Amazon.com Look for: Cecilio, Mendini or Palatino violins.
www.swstrings.com Look for the Prelude or Etude outfit.
www.sharmusic.com Look for any Franz Hoffmann Model.
If you buy an instrument you will be responsible for all upgrades and repairs. These stores offer reliable instruments, easy to handle and have a pleasant sound.
