Event Tap operates the Event Tap mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our app and related services at eventtap.app.
We may collect the following information when you use Event Tap:
• Account information: name, email address, and password (required to create an account). You may optionally provide a profile photo, date of birth, and gender.
• Profile and activity data: events you create or attend, posts, comments, favorites, followers, and notifications.
• Location data: approximate or precise location when you pick an event location, use the map, or enable location permissions.
• Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, language preference, and general usage information needed to operate and improve the service.
• Communications: messages you send through support channels or when you report content or users.
• Guest browsing: you may browse limited public content without creating an account. In guest mode, we do not collect account information or send personal data to our servers. Only basic on-device preferences (such as language, theme, and guest session state) may be stored locally on your device.
We use your information to:
• Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• Let you discover, create, attend, and manage events.
• Enable social features such as posts, comments, and following.
• Show events and locations on maps and personalize your experience.
• Send in-app notifications and service-related messages.
• Review reports, enforce our community standards, and keep the platform safe.
• Improve, maintain, and troubleshoot the app.
• Comply with legal obligations.
Event Tap may request access to your device location to help you select event locations, display events on a map, and improve location-based discovery. You can control location permissions in your device settings. If you disable location access, some map and location features may not work fully.
Content you post—such as event details, images, comments, and timeline posts—may be visible to other users according to the app's features and your actions. You are responsible for the content you share. Other users may report content that violates our rules, and we may review or remove content that breaches our policies or applicable law.
Event Tap uses trusted third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf, including:
• Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In for authentication.
• Google Maps for map display and location services.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies. We do not sell your personal information.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
You can delete your account at any time from: Settings → Delete Account in the app.
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate security purposes.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can update much of your profile information in the app. For other requests, contact us at the email below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app and on our website. Continued use of Event Tap after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
