What is Parent Academy?
The Esparto Unified School District values the active role parents take in their children's education. In order to support this relationship, the District will be implementing a parent education program entitled “Parent Academy.”
We will offer free workshops on various educational topics throughout the school year so parents can become better equipped to support their child’s learning. Research indicates that when schools work together with families to support learning, students perform better in school and throughout life.
What is the Goal of Parent Academy?
Our mission is to empower, inform and educate greater family involvement in developing a lasting learning partnership in which parents support their children in achieving academic and personal success.
How will the Topics be Determined?
Topics will be provided based upon parent survey feedback.
When are Workshops Offered?
Classes are offered during evening hours on various days of the week in both Spanish and English. Childcare will also be provided as needed. We hope our community will find the sessions beneficial as we work together to ensure our students will have the advantage of an outstanding education. In addition to attending classes, we will have links to several websites and any previous workshop notes available electronically. We will provide recommended readings that will provide parents with additional resources. The links and readings are grouped by specific topics.
