September

Back-to-School Time Capsules

Friday, September 11, 2020.

It was so wonderful to see the creativity and ideas behind the students' time capsules. The children included many items from their foot prints, to their favorite snacks, letters, messages, to bubbles and confetti to use when we finally return to school. I want to thank our LE Parents for their cooperation and support in this important unifying activity. We hope to open & share them once we return to the Euro.

Celebrating Mexican Independence Day

Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

Just a quick a reminder that students are invited to show the MEXICAN SPIRIT and national pride on Tuesday. Wear your Mexican colors and celebrate this special day with us! ¡VIVA MEXICO!

Enjoy the day!

International Peace Day

Not only is it the first day of autumn, but it is also an important day where all global citizens unite to celebrate the meaning of what peace means. Today our students recognized and worked on a number of activities related to world peace, celebrated our differences and noted the importance of empathy.

October

Fall Break Has Come!

October 16 to 20, 2020.

We are happy to remind you that after 8 weeks of hard work, dedication and positive attitudes using our DLP platforms, we have arrived to our Fall Break! I want to wish you all a safe and relaxing time with your families. Enjoy yourselves and we will see our students back online on Wednesday, October 21st at 8:30 am. Take care.

Stride Placement Activities

October 22nd & October 23rd

During this short week our Grade 1 & 2 students will be logging onto Stride where they will be working on two diagnostic activities- one in math and one in reading/language arts. The students need to have their login information (name and password) ready to use beside them. We are doing these in order to learn where our students' strengths lie as well as their academic areas of opportunity so our teachers can plan for each child's needs and development. We kindly ask that you do not help your child when answering the questions as we need to know what your child can do independently. If you help with answers or give hints this will affect the outcome. The teachers will be present when the work is being done so the children can ask questions & receive direction. I will be sharing an important video with you to watch with your child before the activities so everyone will understand the process. It will go out on Friday, October 16th. Should you have any questions afterward, please feel free to contact the Homeroom Teacher on Wednesday, October 21st. She will be able to help you. Take care and thank you.
