“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.”

As an educator, I am always looking to find ways to spark curiosity and wonder in my students. Connecting the world of mathematics means connecting to the awe-inspiring links that exist between our universe and patterns. I am inspired by the beauty in the world, and the role math plays in it. It is the curiosity about the world around us that I want to ignite in my students.
For my students, I want to show the value of perseverance, resilience, and creativity. We are in a time where being able to adapt and see joy is more important than ever. I am committed to finding the best ways to model this for my students.
I am so excited to be part of the Cavitt family! This is my 29th year teaching. I have a Master’s Degree in Education, as well as a degree in Mathematics. Prior to coming to Cavitt, I taught at both the middle and high school levels. My teaching philosophy is centered around the idea that ALL players in the game are valuable. For my part, it is my intent to show up every day ready to inspire, educate, engage, challenge, and enjoy my students.
We are all in this together. And together, we can do great things. I have immense gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of my students' journey in life and learning.
