Welcome! I am looking forward to the new school year even with all of the uncertainties and changes! I love technology and I am looking forward to implementing and exploring useful online activities to help students find their love of science and engineering.

A little About Mrs. Kornelis
I have always had a love for science and engineering. I have a Bachelors degree is in Environmental Studies with a Minor in Geology. I actually worked as an Environmental Scientist for 10 years before I went into teaching. I worked as a science consultant for Engineering firms where I helped clients across the United States with matters pertaining to water quality, air quality, hazardous waste and materials management, and health and safety. While I enjoyed my job as a Scientist, I also wanted to explore teaching. I wanted to share my passion for science with others.
I went back to school and received a Science and Multiple Subjects teaching credential through Chapman University along with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction through Brandman University. I enjoy being able to design curriculum for my students and I am now going on my eighth year of teaching. This is my fourth year at Cavitt Jr. High and I am super excited to be part of the Cavitt family.
