Who am I?
My name is Kendall Moser and I'm a year two Early Career Educator fellow. I graduated from Lake Superior State University in December of 2023. I completed my student teaching at Sault Area Middle School (SAMS) in 6th grade ELA and was hired on at SAMS to teach 7th grade ELA shortly after.
How did I get here?
I have always been passionate about education. Growing up on Drummond Island (about an hour and a ferry ride away from Sault Ste. Marie), I was surrounded by a close-knit community that deeply valued education. My mom taught at the elementary school on the island for over 25 years, so I spent my childhood surrounded by passionate educators. I watched for years as community volunteer groups take time out of their busy lives to transform an entire elementary school into a circus, zoo, galaxy, campsite, or whatever that year's reading month theme happened to be. Most of my summers were spent participating in and later volunteering at the programs educators hosted at the school to allow students to explore science experiments, write stories, solve math puzzles, and more.
