Classroom Information

1. Every day bring required materials to class. Required materials include, science notebook (composition book preferably, spiral is ok) , writing utensil, and homework.

2. Be in class when the bell rings and begin working on the day's bell work.

3. Fully participate in the day's assignment, activity, lab, or project.

4. Complete all work to the best of your ability and turn everything in on time.

1. Treat everyone well.

2. Do your best.

3. Take care of our science equipment.

1. No computer games, ever.

2. No listening to music when you should be available to your classmates. This is almost always.

3. Youtube is for educational purposes only.

4. No Snapchat, Instagram, WhatsApp, imessenger, or Facebook unless we find an educational purpose for the app.

• Broken up into units; each unit includes the following entries
  1. Overview (Background Learning, Objectives, & Genius)
  2. Unit Organizer & Vocabulary
  3. Bell Work
  4. Unit Work: Notes, Assignments, Labs, & Reflections

• What a grade means:
  • Grades represent achievement in learning course materials.
  • This could also be said, grades are designed reflect "last learning" not how confused a student was at the start.
• What will not be graded:
  • Participation, effort, or behavior points.
  • Assignments meant to teach are worth very few points or left ungraded. These are designed for trying and learning.
• What will be graded:
  • Summative test, labs, projects meant to show what a student knows are weighted heavily.
• Late work:
  • If the assignment is turned in the day after it was due, 20% will be taken off of the overall earned score.
  • The percentage deducted increases until one week after the due date when the assignment will be accepted for 50% credit.
  • After one week (7 days) no credit is given for an assignment.
• Extra Credit - Never, under any circumstances is there extra credit.
• Group Grades - I never give a group grade on assignments and projects. Each student receives their own grade based on what the individual produced.
