Monday - Extended Gathering

  • Zombie Survival

Tuesday - Goal Setting, Grade Tracking

  • Gathering: Stuffed Toy Toss Share something you need to accomplish this week.

    • As students are sharing, document on the board in case they are in shared classes with other students. This is a good way for them to remind each other about upcoming work.

  • Grades: Before setting your goal for this week, head back to your table spot and check your current grades on Skyward. All grades should be up to date as of this week.

  • SMART Goal Setting: Use your grades and or the list of things on the board to inform your SMART Goal for the week. If you have lower than a 3 in a class, use the dropdown menu to explore why and what you could revise/complete to improve that grade. If you have all 3s, you could make a SMART Goal around trying to reach advanced in a course OR a habit you are working on improving. You should have this bookmarked already, but here is the SMART Goal Setting Template if you need it.

  • Partner Check In: Share your goal with your assigned buddy! This is the person (besides me) who will hold you accountable this week for your goal. Please set up a time to check in with that person.

  • Ticket Out: Share your goal statement with the group! I will write each person's goal on the board so we can refer back to them throughout the week.

Thursday - One-on-One Conferencing

Gathering Prompt: What is one thing you have done or could do to support or provide service to our community? Show a thumbs up when you have thought of your response.

  • Share out in a go around format

  • I will jot ideas on the board as we share out to keep track.

Whole Group Discussion: Yesterday we talked about the career/college readiness report card. One indicator of career readiness was completing 25 hours of community service throughout your high school years. Why do you think this is important or shows you are ready for a career or college? To help support you in this goal, we are going to track the hours we have already done so far this year on a Volunteer form. The forms will be in your mailbox. Walk students through filling out the volunteer form. Here are the people who volunteered for the Blood Drive and their hours. These students should fill out a second form. Also, give students the volunteer hours tracking table so they can continue to add their hours as they go. This should be saved in their advisory folder.

  • Whenever you do community service outside of school, you should fill out one of these forms. If you need a form, please ask me or Nikki in the office for a form.

      • Add your hours to your Volunteer Tracking Table in your advisory folder every time you volunteer so you can keep a running total.

  • We will continue to share ideas or opportunities for you to volunteer for as the year goes on.

Ticket Out: Turn in your completed volunteer forms to me! Share out an idea that you would like to volunteer for in the future.
