1999 - Harold "Doc" Kinsey
Harold “Doc” Kinsey moved to Seminole in 1965 from his native New York.
Doc Kinsey has been a constant part of the Seminole community and has always stood ready to lend a hand and share his time and passion with local civic clubs in the development of our community.
Doc was on the committee for Seminole’s first Pow Wow Celebration and was one of those hard-working individuals that helped make it a success. He is by known by many as the guy who started the charcoal grills at 4:30 am and then cooking chickens all day long in order to raise money at the Pow Wow. Some of the money Doc Kinsey helped raise was used to build our Seminole High School football field.
Doc Kinsey was with the Seminole Fire department for 33 years and was president of the Florida Firemen’s Association representing the interests of over 1,000 firefighters. He was the team Captain of the Seminole Fire Department which were the state champs for 5 years.
Doc served as the President of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce and was a very passionate supporter of the golf tournament and lending his talents for its continued success.
As president of the local Kiwanis Club Doc also served as the lieutenant governor and leader of the district.
