Robert Castles was born in Atlanta, Ga, and moved to Florid Keys 1962. In 1970, after returning from Viet Nam, Robert moved from the Florida Keys to Seminole where he worked as an advisor to Mayor Holland Magnum on purchasing the Rec. Center. Robert was responsible for the annexation of Seminole Gardens Apartments into the City and served on the original Rec. Board, as well as two Charter Review Boards and was a member of the City’s Personnel Review Board.
Robert Castles served on the Chamber Board and participated in many of the Chamber projects.
Robert has been the President, member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Seminole.
Coached at Warhawk youth soccer and Seminole Shooting Stars for 15 years.
Helped move/start the Seminole Shooting Stars program at the Rec. Center.
Founding Director of both Seminole Bank and First Home Bank and a founding member of the Tuesday Club.
In real life, Robert was the Project Manager Seminole Gardens Apartments, responsible for the build out of The Peacock Professional Park. He also developed the Seminole Mini Storage and involved with several projects in St. Petersburg including the Heritage Hotel.
